Mathieu is an experienced joiner by trade and has been running his own kitchen installation

IKEA flatpack cabinets are a sturdy and cost-effective option for creating the “bones” of your kitchen (or bathroom/ storage/ wardrobes). But if you are looking for a more custom finish, without the hefty price tag of going full custom, exchanging the outer layers only (doors, drawer fronts, sides & accessories) will give you that look & feel, for less than half the cost!
You may already have IKEA cabinets in place- which means you will spend considerably less on a re-vamp by only replacing the outer shells. Plus, it’s better for the environment than ripping it all out!
